Through the apparel we design, we seek to tell the stories of the keepers of the land and sea, the ones who recognize the mighty power of the ocean and dedicate their life’s work to amplifying her potent influence on our hearts.

While we are forever searching the horizon for the ocean-lovers and the good-doers, when LOCAL WAVES came across The OisF,  we knew we did not need to look any further. 

T h e O i s F…

The Ocean Is Female, is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based in New Jersey. The OisF was founded in 2020 by Alli Scaduto. Alli is many things to many people. She is a friend, a mother, a surfer and a survivor. It was through the healing she experienced surfing in the ocean that gave her the idea to build a network of sea-sisters through the development of ocean-based programs and activities for girls. Today, the OisF runs the USA’s first ever Surf Therapy Program designed specifically for survivors of abuse and domestic violence. Not only has the OisF connected over 250 girls and counting through a wide variety of programs, The OisF also creates a legacy of positivity through community initiatives that support organizations like 180 Turning Lives Around, another NJ nonprofit that provides invaluable resources directly to local families who are impacted by abuse and domestic violence.
